Synkra Privacy Policy
Effective date: 26 August 2026
Synkra is a wellbeing check-in app. This policy explains how Synkra handles information.
Plain-language summary
Synkra stores selected account and check-in information on your Phone and its servers. This includes structured information, such as energy and mood and supporting wording from quick check-ins. Synkra uses this information to personalise reflections and suggestions.
What Synkra stores
Synkra can centrally store your optional preferred name and age band, adult eligibility confirmation, cycle context and reminder preferences, structured check-ins, generated reflections, care-action responses, and cycle events. It does not collect your exact date of birth or gender for your Synkra profile. Existing local tester history is not uploaded automatically when an account is first created.
Retention and account deletion
Deleting your Synkra account removes records linked to that account from Synkra’s active database, including check-in history, snapshots, generated messages and feedback. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete those server records.
Quick check-in text and supporting wording
When you use a quick check-in, Synkra sends your text, including text transcribed from speech, through the Synkra service to OpenAI to interpret what you shared and prepare a response.
The resulting check-in information can include supporting wording taken or derived from your input. This may include phrases or sentences you shared. Supporting wording is retained on your Phone and in server records used for personalised messages. It may be sent to OpenAI again with recent check-in history to generate reflections.
Sign in with Apple
Synkra uses Sign in with Apple to protect your account and API access. The server verifies your Apple identity token and exchanges the one-use authorisation code for Apple credentials. It stores only an encrypted refresh token needed to disconnect Sign in with Apple if you delete your account; it does not store the one-use code or your Apple identity token. The encrypted refresh token is deleted after revocation succeeds or Apple confirms that it is no longer valid. Synkra does not use sign-in information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Apple Health
Apple Health access is optional. If you connect it, Synkra reads sleep, activity, and heart-rate summaries as supporting context only. Synkra may store up to 90 days of Apple Health summaries locally on your device to notice recurring patterns. Synkra may send compact recent summaries and derived observations to the Synkra API/OpenAI to help generate a reflection after a check-in. Raw HealthKit samples, exact sleep-window records, sleep-stage breakdowns, and 90-day daily history are not sent or centrally stored. Synkra does not use Apple Health to automatically score symptoms.
App Store link requests
If you register for the direct App Store link on the Synkra website, your details are used to share release instructions and important Synkra updates. They are not used for advertising.
Reflection feedback
When you give feedback on a reflection, Synkra saves it for founder review, along with the reflection, care actions and relevant check-in and Apple Health details. Supporting wording may also appear in feedback exports used for that review. Reflection feedback does not include raw HealthKit samples or the full 90-day Apple Health history.
Product feedback
If you share broader app feedback from Home, Synkra stores the feedback surface, your selected option, any note you choose to write, and basic app context so the founder can improve Synkra. If you use this route to ask for support, the optional note may also contain the support information you choose to provide. It does not include raw quick check-in text unless you enter it again in the feedback note.
Product-interaction analytics
Synkra stores first-party usage events to understand whether people can use the app in real life without help. These events can include app opens, onboarding completion, check-in method, saved check-ins, Home, History and Trends tab views, reflection views, screen duration, whether a reflection came from the API or fallback logic, and whether in-app feedback was submitted. Events use hashed install/session identifiers and may include app version, build number, locale, coarse device region, and time zone. They do not include raw check-in text, raw notes, raw HealthKit samples, precise location, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.
Sharing and ads
Synkra does not sell your data, share it with vendors for ads, track you across other apps or websites, or use your private check-ins for advertising.
Health boundary
Synkra is wellbeing support only. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose conditions, and should not be used for urgent health needs.
Your control
When you sign out, Synkra removes or locks the readable account data on that device and returns to the sign-in screen. Information that has already synchronised remains in your Synkra account and becomes available when you sign in again. If changes have not yet synchronised, Synkra asks you to retry or confirm that you want to sign out without them.
You can delete your Synkra account in the app. Account deletion removes synchronised account data, invalidates Synkra sessions, clears readable account data from the device, and asks Apple to revoke Synkra's Sign in with Apple credential. If Apple is temporarily unavailable, Synkra keeps only the encrypted refresh token required to retry revocation; deleted account data is not restored. Apple Health permissions are managed separately in iPhone Settings, and signing out or deleting your Synkra account does not delete the underlying Apple Health records.
Deleting the app removes its local data. Information already synchronised to your account can be restored after reinstalling and signing in again unless you deleted the account.
